Teachers R' Us
It is no secret that teachers are craving strategies for reaching today's students, and this workshop will give teachers numerous strategies to accomplish this goal. Your teachers will love the content of this program as Bill Cordes, a former classroom teacher, spends time with your teachers sharing ideas and insights that he has collected from visiting classrooms in 42 states across our nation.

"Teachers R' Us" is a curriculum of in-service programs specifically designed for teachers who teach, lead and guide students  It addresses their needs through a "workshop within a workshop" design. Each phase of the workshop is designed to be a half-day in-service. (Participating in phase 1 does not require a district to do the other three because each phase is a complete program.)

Phase 1: Relating: Strategies for communicating and relating to staff,  other teachers and students. This phase gives educators numerous ideas for handling conflict, change and communication challenges within their organization. It also provides skills for setting up a classroom to which students can relate.

Phase 2: Responsibility: This phase specifically deals with an educators "ability to respond" in and out of the classroom. It gives "hands-on" skills and strategies that keep educators and students excited about the benefits of making the right choices in their daily lives. Educators will also learn activities and games that will allow them to set up a classroom in which students are more accountable to themselves and others!

Phase 3: Your Role as a Role Model: This phase empowers educators to take a close look at how their attitudes toward learning affect the attitudes of their students. Activities will challenge educators to look at their attitudes toward change and paradigm busting. Educators will learn to evaluate what is working and what is not in their classrooms as well as how to build character and self-respect in the classroom.

Phase 4: Rejoicing: Phase 4 deals with learning to enjoy the journey of being an educator and how not to get caught up in the stress of the struggle. It teaches educators to break down teaching and learning into "chunks" to enable students and teachers to have more fun while educating their students. It also allows teachers to reconnect with their original vision they had when they first decided to be an educator.

Not only do educators gain the value of the material presented in the curriculum, but they also gain value from learning strategies about "how to present the curriculum." All phases are filled with breaks in the curriculum in which educators can see the learning philosophy that is behind the teaching of each concept. Educators will learn how to turn their classroom into a workshop that appeals to this generation. Teachers can expect to be "eductained" (educated and entertained) as they proceed through this practical and powerful workshop!
